Rundwanderweg 2: Kremstal & Kuhberg

The walk begins at the main entrance to Krems town hall on Pfarrplatz square. From there, head east and turn right at the end of the square, then immediately turn left into Untere Landstraße. Cross the entire Untere Landstraße until you reach the Wiener Brücke. On the left-hand side of the bridge, as seen from you, a staircase leads down to the banks of the Krems river. You now follow the Krems and after a short time you come to Mölkergasse and have to walk alongside the road. Shortly afterwards, however, you enter the Imkerweg and can walk along the Krems undisturbed by traffic. Via Ufergasse you come to Schmittbrücke, a green-painted steel truss bridge, and turn right just before it onto Graf-Falkenhayn-Promenade. After a barrier, you come to Mühlhofstraße and walk along it through the modern residential area. This road then leads into Seilerweg, on which you finally come to a bridge over the Krems river. Cross the bridge and the road, turn right and continue along Rehberger Hauptstraße for a few meters until you turn left into Waldhofweg after the elementary school. After a left-hand bend and a right-hand bend, you enter the forest. After approx. 450 meters you come to a diagonally crossing lane. You can also see a few buildings through the trees at this point. Now turn sharp left and follow the white-blue-white markings through the forest. Eventually you will reach the bend in a wider forest path and turn left onto it. The route now goes downhill until you reach a crossroads, where you turn right into Schießstattgasse and pass a yellow house. Via Schießstattgasse you reach Wachtertorgasse, where you continue downhill. Before you reach the Bundesgymnasium, turn right into Piaristengasse, where you can marvel at the impressive statues depicting the Passion of Christ on the church walls. Opposite the church, turn left onto the Piaristenstiege, which will take you back to Pfarrplatz, the starting point of your hike.
