Rundwanderung 1: Kreuzberg & Schwarzalm

You start the walk at the main entrance to Krems town hall on Pfarrplatz. From there, head west through the narrow Schlüsselamtsgasse to Dominikanerplatz. You then walk past the Dominican church to Körnermarkt and past the Dominican monastery, which now houses the tourist information office, up Schmelzgasse. You cross the Stadtgraben and then continue along Alauntalstraße. Walk up the Kreuzbergstiege to Kreuzbergstraße and turn right into it. After a few meters you will reach a viewing point from where you can enjoy a beautiful view over the old town of Krems. The route then continues uphill on the road opposite, which branches off to the northwest. You will soon have a beautiful view of the Und district and the Krems campus. After a long straight stretch and a right-hand bend, you will reach the cross visible from afar. From there, continue to follow the path uphill, which also has several bends, until you reach a road that you cross and turn right onto. At the next opportunity, turn right again. You are now in the so-called Armesündergraben and after a few meters you will pass the excursion restaurant "Schwarzalm". Follow the Armesündergraben downhill until it leads into Schießstattgasse, where you continue along the path. This lane then turns into Wachtertorgasse, which leads to Hoher Markt. Turn left from the Bundesgymnasium to Althangasse, which takes you back to Pfarrplatz.
